The big, audacious dream has always been to grow a radically new, decidedly delicious, and truly equitable spice trade, to push a broken system into an equal exchange, and to have a lot of fun doing it.

Just as we are building a market for regenerative farmers, we are also building a community for ourselves. Being in this community is about connecting deeply with the culture and heritage of the regions that we source from, and about learning as we go. Complicating and deepening what "Made in South Asia" means, and how we tell our own stories of freedom, struggle, and diaspora through food.

Position Summary

Diaspora Co. is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Social Media Coordinator with 2–3 years of experience to join our team. As part of our mission-driven company that’s reimagining the spice trade with a focus on equity and transparency, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how our brand comes to life on our social media channels. Reporting to the Marketing Manager and working closely with teams across the US and India, you will be responsible for managing our social calendar, shooting and editing exciting content that aligns with the brand for IG and TikTok, and coordinating brand and affiliate partnerships for social.

Key Responsibilities


  • Working alongside the Marketing team to bring Diaspora Co's brand POV to life across social channels from daily content to new launches

  • Managing the social calendar - which includes upkeep and organization, managing the various people and roles that are responsible for producing on-time deliverables, and finding creative ways of using our existing content

  • Developing original, creative content ideas while also staying on top of IG trends

  • Planning, producing and shooting on-brand content for Instagram and Tiktok 

  • Deep understanding of the Youtube landscape, including top creators channels in the food/D2C industry. 

  • Strong writing skills with the ability to learn our brand voice and write thoughtful copy 

  • Managing Tiktok Shop, including setting up and optimising product listings, implementing effective promotional strategies and ensuring compliance with Tiktok’s guidelines

  • Assisting in coordinating brand-based partnerships for our socials and running campaigns, including giveaways 

  • Managing influencer/affiliate gifting by curating recipient lists and making sure these are always updated, coordinating shipping details and ensuring timely deliveries.  

  • Engaging with our community by responding to DMs and comments, reposting stories and generally making our community feel BELOVED! 


Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of experience as a social media coordinator. We are open to you having work experience in a different field, but proof of your content creation abilities are a must.


Skills

  • Proficient in CapCut (or a similar editing software) and Instagram’s native editing tools, with a keen eye for framing and lighting when capturing content on a phone.

  • Strong communication skills to articulate creative ideas and collaborate seamlessly with the team.

  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills, adept at planning ahead and juggling multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Experienced with Google Workspace and comfortable learning new tools and platforms, including Slack, Trello and Shopify.

Benefits


Compensation: Rs. 60,000 - Rs. 70,000 per month DOE

Healthcare: Rs. 30,000 annual stipend for a healthcare insurance plan

Paid Time Off: 18 days of flexible PTO days, and 10 paid holidays along with a company-wide winter break of 10 days at the end of each year.

Wellness Benefit: Rs. 2,000 monthly stipend for physical and mental health expenses

Phone & Internet Stipend: Rs. 1,000 per month
